Ok - the piece is gorgeous - I am not 100% Sure this is the original box as the compact is not a tight fit - the lady who sold it to me assures me it was, but you know that story - the box is from  Julius Garfinckel & Co. Washington & Paris - the compact does  have scratches on it but does not distract from its beauty - measures approx 2.25"
